What do you want to get out of the hike? Having a purpose when you hike will make it much more enjoyable. Many people hike because they have other hobbies or interests that hiking helps facilitate.
Here are a few to give you ideas:
a. To see beautiful views
b. To get awesome photos to lose yourself in when you’re not out in nature.
c. To observe wildflowers, animals or interesting geological formations.
d. To get exercise (I don’t like to exercise on purpose, so this fits me perfectly).
e. To reach the top of that peak. . .and hiking is the only way to get there.
f. To recharge your batteries from the drain of daily life.
g. To impress friends or inspire grandchildren.
h. To add up miles or to improve on your best time
